Each student is required to produce a project report. Students should be encouraged to start work on their reports before they have completed their practical work. They should be allowed a further period of at least two to three weeks to produce their reports after they have completed their collection of data. The report must be word processed and submitted electronically.

There is quite a lot of work in each GCSE so it's always advisable to plan for that and make sure you can cope with the workload. In the vast majority ofschools GCSE Maths, English Language and Science are compulsory and the other subjects you will be entered for will be options that you choose from a range offered by the school (in some establishments a language is also compulsory and in others, Religious Studies too). All in all it's worth taking a lot of time in Yr 9 identifying those which you have to take, and then finding out as much as you can about the others before choosing your options.

Students of our Edexcel A level in Biology will develop their knowledge and understanding of different areas of biology and how they relate to each other. They will explore how society makes decisions about biology-related issues and how biology contributes to the success of the economy and society.

The investigation is marked out of a total of 95 marks, using the criteria given below. Intermediate marks (eg 6, 8, 5) should be used when students have partially achieved a listed mark level of the criteria, but half-marks should not be used. Note that for each aspect, the criteria are hierarchical: for a mark to be awarded, all of the earlier mark levels must have been satisfied. A mark of 5 should be awarded if the work submitted is unworthy of any credit.

Students should aim to produce well-organised and clear reports. They should select, organise and present information clearly and logically, present their work appropriately, select and use images to illustrate points clearly, and use standard conventions of spelling, punctuation and grammar.

This site is a wonder - it truly is. I, being a teacher, find this website to be a gift from heaven to pupils. They can have easy access to past papers, and the layout is just amazing!!
